Looking at alabama's front 7 and how they play defense, it seems pretty vanilla outside of the base 3-4 defense. It isn't the scheme, it's how Alabama utilizes their front 7. simply controlling the lines of scrimmage instead of getting hellbent on rushing the QB. I've always wondered why we haven't taken this approach considering we have the 4 and 5*s up front to do it. the constant blitzing with the DL leaves our LBs to utilize tremendous gap discipline they dont have. this seems like a more vanilla approach don't you think?
