I think the coaches really came with a good gameplan and poor execution kept it from being effective. The penn state defense came out super aggressive against the run and we countered that perfectly (slants and screens). But that doesn't mean anything when you drop a screen pass and drop three slants, one of which leads to a pick. Notice our best plays were of the same variety (two screens to dobby and the bubble screen to hill). And the defensive gameplan was on par too. We did spy the QB but PSU gameplanned around it and sometimes the other team's players just make plays (mcsorely beating borland on the 50 yard run even when he was meant to be a spy comes to mind). Overall the coaches called a great game (not perfect) and we made enough plays to win. Clean up the execution and we have a special team
