Correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I understand it, when a Buckeye footballer has his black stripe removed, that means he is “game ready.” However, after hours of infallible research, I have found some discrepancies. Seems that several Buckeyes have been getting a fair amount of playing time before they have formally had their black stripes removed.
Jaelen Gill – 2 games
Antwaun Jackson – 2 games
Nicholas Petit-Frere – 3 games
Josh Proctor – 2 games
“Blue” Smith – 1 game
Alex Williams – 2 games
In addition, the following Buckeyes are still in possession of their black stripes but have not seen the field:
Kamryn Babb
Matthew Baldwin
Marcus Hooker
Matthew Jones
Max Wray
After analyzing this data, the only reasonable conclusion I can reach is that the “Committee for the Removal of Black Stripes” has been slacking off. I know there has been a fair amount of turmoil over the past few weeks, but now that things are back to normal, I feel those committee members need to up their games and correct these grievous oversights.
