Tressels, Fickells and Urbans,

It was just a matter of time.  Eventually, the game was going to tilt and never re-balance.

This Ohio State team is deep...and will just wear teams down!  It was just a matter of time against Indiana in the opener.  It's amazing how many players are stacked up at every position...guys who were the top recruits nationally.  With so many players rotating, they get to stay fresh and flash when their time comes on the field.  Everyone can be an NFL draft pick!  [:)]

A few quick hits from the Indiana game:

*Give B.B. his touchdown!  The big man was robbed...carried defenders on his back into the end zone just to have it called back as an incomplete pass.  B.B. Landers will be the next Refrigerator Perry lining up at fullback if he's not careful.

*Where was Super Demario Brothers?  His half-brother, Luigi Campbell, got it done eventually after a dropped pass in the end zone.  Maybe Demario isn't blocking downfield...a definite no-no if you want to see the field (which on the Ohio State roster = big NFL paycheck).

*Looked like Barry Sanders and luckily not Bernie Sanders.  J.! K.! Dobbins!  Say this in your best Gus Johnson voice...and now say it again - and yet again like Gus Johnson...keep rinsing and repeating; it just doesn't get old.

A few thoughts for this season:

*Can OSU get it done if the long ball never materializes?  Sometimes things just are what they are.  Maybe JT and the OSU passing game just aren't great at completing long passes.  Against the Penn States and Michigans of the world, can crossing patterns and quick strike offense work well enough?  Maybe.  The Silver Bullet defense could be outstanding this year and make a lead hold up.  JT usually figures out how to move the chains when he needs to.  And, if Mike Weber has improved, the running game could be outstanding.  (...in my head I'm still saying J.! K.! Dobbins!)

*Can they get it done if the offensive line play has holes?  In the first half against IU, the offensive line missed assignments in pass protection...they started to gel in the second half.  Bowen was just solidified at right guard so they still have to create some cohesion.  If the offensive line continues to miss, I like JT's ability to escape...and Dobbins moves as quickly laterally as he does north-south - just keep ducking and weaving, young Buckeye.

*Will this coaching staff pull rabbits out of hats against the Penn States and Michigans of the world?  The coaching staff is good at making adjustments...they did a great job at halftime against IU.  (Even though I don't think Schiano really wanted to play his Cover 2 hand against Indiana.)

The game this weekend against Oklahoma is the one with the proverbial circle around.  Ohio Stadium...under the lights...two historical, iconic college football programs...both ranked in the top 10 and gunning for the College Football Playoff.

Last season, we had to wait for kickoff at Oklahoma with lightning delaying the start.

But, it was just a matter of time before the weather calmed and the game began...and just like last year, this game will tilt and never re-balance.

Touchdowns:  Mike Weber, JT, Dante Booker, JK Dobbins, Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon

OSU 42 Oklahoma 28

Go Bucks!  Beat Oklahoma!  Dante Booker for Heisman!
