It's evident the Offense has its issues but it became very clear yesterday how to possibly solve it, then for some reason they completely forgot about that possible solution. The offense has proven that they have difficulties with blocking, wide receivers getting open and the ability to throw the deep ball. However, on the first drive yesterday we saw an uptempo offense put those weaknesses in the rear view mirror with an impressive opening drive. Then for reasons only god knows they completely went away from that strategy and went back to their version of techmo bowl play calling. To me it is very clear, we have the speed and talent to get out there and run 100+ plays per game. This would take the stress off of the line and would open up the offense for our playmakers. Although JT struggles with the deep ball he has proved accurate with the 10-15 yard routes which an uptempo offense should have a ton of. It can also let JT do what he has recruited to do and become a true dual threat QB. It's hard to say this but we need to see him run more, it seems our Offensive minds go from one extreme to the other by either giving him 30 carries a game or 2. There is a healthy balance there with JT getting 10-12 carries a game and also getting Samuel at least 20 touches per game. And for god sakes can they come up with something better for Samuel other than the Wildcat or the speed option to the short side of the field. This isn't Nebraskas offense from the 90's. I would say the rest of the year is now an audition for Wariner/Beck and even for Fickell.
Where's the uptempo play, where's the dual threat?
