With Basketball kicking off later tonight, I thought it might be right to ask a Basketball-related question: Who's your all-time underappreciated Buckeye? 

In Basketball it's easy to overlook some of the roleplayers, especially in favor of the superstar-level players that average 20-30 ppg, but the roleplayers play one of the most important roles in the team, usually giving much-needed assistance in a category that might not show up on the stat sheet. 

This is where I have my answer: Kyle Young

You might remember Kyle for being the injury-prone 5th-year senior who struggled to stay healthy, but the reality couldn't be farther from the truth. In the Buckeye's breakout season (2020-21), the Buckeyes had amassed a total record of 20-7 with Young healthy, and in the four games he missed, they went 1-3, with two of those losses including the Buckeyes loss to Illinois in the B1G Championship game, as well as their first-round exit to #15 seed Oral Roberts. In the 2021-22 season, the team went 17-7 with Young on the court, while going 3-5 in games he missed, with the notable loss being in the quarterfinals of the B1G Tournament to lowly 6-seed Penn State. 

2017-18 With: 19-6 2017-18 Without: 6-3 (Won't Be Counted For or Against Total)

2018-19 With: 18-13 Without: 2-2

2019-20 With: 18-7 2019-20 Without: 3-3 (Covid Cancelled Tournament)

2020-21 With: 20-7 Without: 1-3 (B1G Tournament Championship, Loss to #15 Seed)

2021-22 With: 17-7 2021-22 Without: 3-5 (Knocked out of B1G Tournament)

Total Record With: 73-34 (68.22 Winning Percentage) 

Total Record Without: 9-13 (40.91 Winning Percentage)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Freshman year was not counted FOR or AGAINST due to poor playing time.
