Before I start, let me make a disclaimer:

This isn't a defense of Holtmann. At a school like OSU, with their many overflowing resources, any decent coach should be able to make a Sweet 16 (at a bare minimum) once every 6 years, which he hasn't done. Even though basketball at this school will pretty much always come second to football, we still have more funding and better resources than 90% of D1 schools and the level of performance needs to be higher.

HOWEVER

With this season having gone the way that it has, you're crazy if you say you wouldn't rather have another Round of 32 exit as opposed to this slog of a season. I know I would. Hell, another loss to Oral Roberts might be better than what we've endured this season.

Anyway, that realization kinda smacked me in the face with the force of a lead pipe while I was watching the game today and I thought it might be worth sharing.

Basically: Round of 64/32 exit > whatever this is
