2011-2012 Buckeyes were red hot and tailed losing 3 of their last 7 games also narrowly escaping Northwestern by 2 points. They were ranked number 10 when we beat Sparty on Senior night by a Buford buzzer beater thus giving us a number 7 ranking heading into the conference tournament which Sparty got their revenge in the conference tournament championship. We saw dominance most of the season but it was alarming seeing how we sometimes simply didn’t show up and lack of depth was very concerning. Once the tournament started we showed that we were a top 4 team in the land.

Ending: 2nd in B1G Tournament, Final Four loss to Kansas

2020-2021 we were arguably the hottest team in the country with a top 5 ranking leading into hosting ttun and it slipped thru our hands. We then dropped our last 3 games appearing gassed/unable to finish the game with some questionable calls going against us we still had to finish

Summary:

Both of these teams are very similar and we have a deeper bench. 2011-2012 had better overall scorers/talent but the depth wasn’t there nor was the defense outside of Craft. It would be a fun matchup to watch and I think our squad this year can make a Final Four run and it starts Thursday
