To no one's surprise the Mississippi Supreme Court decided that the NCAA essentially no longer has final say on player eligibility, courts will decide it without federal legislation apparently.

NCAA had argued that they should have final say so they petitioned the Mississippi Supreme Court to stay an appeal made by Chambliss to a lower state court that court had granted. The Supreme Court, with no explanation or details to their decision, denied the petition. So while it doesn't fully allow Chambliss to play it does allow him to play while his case continues. Given that it does not appear that the case will be decided before the end of the 2026 season he will play.
No bias or influence involved in this, wink, wink. Another nail in the NCAA coffin.
