Not too worried about the Bucks loss last night; certainly frustrating in many ways and that's the way we'll lose in the playoffs if we do. This defense will never get blown out, but the offense stalling and shaky play-calling (playing defense against ourselves) will be the downfall if it is to be.
I do hope that there was a little "chess not checkers" to the approach last night. Now the games really count and we just might see IU again. Hoosiers are absolutely, totally legit.
- Dropped the Bucks to 3. Before the game I had the B1G loser penciled in at 4 by default since Texas Tech was B12 champion. But I do think 1/2 loser shouldn't drop far and probably the committee will put the Bucks at 3 as well to keep them in the other side of the bracket from IU
- I still have Ole Miss below Texas A&M due to Rebels coach situation. It's certainly a rare but (to me) a pretty obvious reason to have one 11-1 team ahead of another; I'll be interested to see if the committee flips them like that as well or keeps Ole Miss ahead.
- To me it's pretty obvious that Miami & Notre Dame should go ahead of Alabama and BYU (I've always had BYU way lower). Tide lost their 3rd game and looked bad. BYU now has gotten smacked by Texas Tech twice. Seen enough in my opinion, and really last year's idea that conf champ games can "do no harm" should NOT be the case this time. Miami & Notre Dame are the better teams, and to me the Losses yesterday proved that.
- Looks like JMU and Tulane will both get in. I've had JMU higher all along, though Tulane was impressive lately. Committee will have Tulane 11 and JMU 12 but I've got them flipped.
- That Tulane/NTexas game was wild Friday night. There were at least 4 "bad bounce" plays and even some clear misses by the refs that could have easily had the game go completely the other way. I was hoping North Texas would get the win but it just really wasn't their night. Too bad for a program that was really humming along and hoping to ride out a coach headed for a bigger job.
