I know the topic was just being batted about a few days ago here, with most of us not understanding why the B1G would be taking such a reckless risk. USA Today just weighed in on it. It's an opinion piece, so not a lot of new info, but the message is pretty clear, saying Petitti looks like he's trying to kill the conference, the schools are selling their souls, and the wrong people are making decisions. It sounds like the Fox TV contract only 100 times worse. Yes, Fox gave us tons of money, but it came with a bunch of negatives, like OSU having to play every big game at noon. The fact we need michigan and USC to be pumping the brakes here makes me sick. There are few deals involving 18 separate institutions that work out equally well for all. Being at the very top or very bottom is usually precarious. And for OSU, being clearly the most valuable brand in the sport right now, does not give me confidence that any of this is going to work out in our best interest.
