This article on ESPN dives deep into Texas Tech's resurgence on defense and the fact that they explicitly went to the portal and basically brought blank checks with them to grab whoever they wanted. The players themselves are quoted and transparent about the fact this was a NIL decision for them.
It's paying off, so far, but it feels like this narrative is drastically different than the ones that cover OSU's roster and us spending a lot to retain players. This paints TT in a completely positive light.
I don't know how legit their D-line is, or if it's a product of playing in the Big 12 against teams that aren't able to hang with that level of talent. A D-line that can rush 4 and get pressure while dropping 7 is the blueprint for stopping our offense, imo.
