LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly is now the former coach of LSU. LSU fired him despite his approximately 53 million dollar buyout which is the 2nd largest buyout of all time (Jimbo Fisher 76 million).
Kelly started his tenure at LSU with two 10 win seasons. In 2024, he dropped to 9-4, and this year he leaves with a 5-3 record. Kelly's leaves LSU with a final record of 34-14, and a conference record of 19-10. Kelly's career record is 200-76 (.725) while coaching at Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Notre Dame and LSU. Frank Wilson, the RB coach will be the interim coach.
