Every year I am interested to see the talent composite, looking at the full rosters. This year’s is finally out.

On the one hand, it looks pretty familiar with Alabama, Georgia and OSU in the top 3 spots for about the 6th year in a row. But, this masks a massive shift toward parity.
In 2021, two schools had total scores over 1,000 points, and only five schools had scores over 900 points. The gap between number one and number six in talent was enormous.
In 2025, no schools are over 1,000 points and 11 schools have over 900 points (with a couple more just behind). The gap between 1 and 12 is much smaller. And the top teams have an average player ranking under 93 points for the first time I can remember. Number 1 Alabama has an average player ranking of 92.6. Number 11 Notre Dame is at 91.2. The talent is more dispersed. NIL, the portal - they have spread things out.
As for Saturday, Ohio State and Texas have nearly identical talent rankings. They are completely talent equated teams. Let’s kick it off- it is going to be a wild season!
