“…a Title That Was Later Severely Compromised by a Sign-stealing Cheating Scandal.”

This statement is from a new book, “A Baseball Memoir,” by the respected veteran baseball writer Bill Madden.  I highly recommend it if you enjoy memoirs and have an interest in baseball history.  And, naturally, he is talking about the 2017 Houston Astros here.

In any case, isn’t this type of assessment the best Michigan fans can hope for at this point?  I mean, there were already very damning findings by the B1G commissioner a couple of years ago.

And now, even if the NCAA does not vacate wins and Michigan’s title, there are bound to be even more detailed factual findings related to the scope of Michigan’s cheating.

By the way, I never want to hear the word “alleged” ever again in connection with whether Michigan engaged in sign-stealing cheating.  That determination was already made by the B1G commissioner—and Michigan, despite vowing to overturn it in court, never did.

Look, I hope the NCAA drops the ultimate hammer on Michigan.

But, even if it doesn’t, I am confident that whatever findings come out will only reinforce those made by the B1G commissioner.  And therefore the Michigan scandal will forever materially taint the football program.  And thus the so-called “accomplishments” of that title squad will, at best, be treated in the same manner as those of the 2017 Astros.
