Another day another thread.
In our last thread Brohio shared his thoughts on punishments:
"Catching up after a bit away and I'm just going to rip the Band-Aid off and finally address this since it's been such a hot topic currently. The B1G is not currently pursuing any further action against Michigan. They have moved on. That is a summarization of what was told to me starting in March of this year and I assure you it wasn't coming from the janitor at the B1G headquarters' brother in law or any other broken telephone chain of info. There are things like the potential punishment where I'm purely speculating based on my interpretation of the facts and past precedent. This is not one of those things.
With that said, I'm of the opinion that if there is some huge national online outcry when the NCAA punishment is announced, I could absolutely see the B1G reacting and changing course...but it will be just that, a reaction. And I think it would take quite a bit more than just OSU & MSU twitter and message boards alone to force their hand. But regardless, as of last month, there were currently no plans for further action. So, unless something has drastically changed behind the scenes within the B1G since late May, whatever the NCAA hands out will likely be the extent of it. "
PD weighed in with this:
"318 days passed between the draft NOA being shared with UM to begin discussions of a negotiated resolution and their COI panel hearing. Across 45 weeks, 3 different legal teams representing UM were unable to reach a settlement agreement.
Stripping out whatever has been reported about the framework or specific penalties that were discussed, there's no way UM drags things out this way for basic administrative sanctions and the difference between a "2 or 4 game suspension" for Sharon.
Whatever enforcement has been dug in on, UM can't stomach it."
and
"And I'll add that they've come this far *without contesting the facts of the case.*
They admit to doing it. Their defense is rooted in imaginary loopholes and cries of "massive overreach."
That's not how you react when facing a slap on the wrist."
Its still a great day to be a Buckeye, and FUCK TCUN!!!!!
