Former Ohio State co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Alex Grinch is officially set to receive a $600,000 raise at Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Board of Regents announced Wednesday night that Grinch is set to make $1.4 million in his new job as the Sooners' defensive coordinator. Per SoonerScoop.com, Grinch signed a three-year contract that includes a $100,000 retention bonus for each year.
Grinch is now the highest-paid assistant coach in Oklahoma football history.
Grinch was paid a salary of $800,000 for his lone season with the Buckeyes. Ohio State also paid him a signing bonus of $250,000, but that was to pay out his buyout from his previous job as Washington State's defensive coordinator.
