I just came across a great article in the Dispatch about Brad McDavid, the band director for UW.

McDavid grew up in Ohio as a Buckeye fan, decided he wanted to be a sousaphone player as a 6 year-old when he watched the 1969 Rose Bowl parade, dotted the "i" 3 times as a student (including The Game in '83), and dotted the "i" once more in the alumni band in 2003 when Washington played Ohio State on Alumni Band Day... pretty cool.
