As promised here's the latest and greatest from two bowl games played under the lights on Friday nights.
The 7-5 Toledo Rockets played the 8-4 Florida International Golden Panthers in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl with the warm breezes off the tropical ocean in Nassau. The Rockets blasted off in the first quarter to a 10-0 lead, but couldn't maintain their hot trajectory and fell back to earth with a 35-32 loss.
The 7-5 Western Michigan Broncos joined 6-6 BYU Cougars on the frozen blue Smurf Turf in Boise, Idaho for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The Broncos were ahead at half time, but the Cougars clawed back in the 3rd quarter with 28 unanswered points. The freshman BYU quarterback had ice in his veins and was a perfect 18 of 18 passes for 318 yards and a 49-18 Bronco busting ride.
