Remember when we (as an OSU fanbase) had some heartburn over Nebraska's recruiting 2 years ago? Particularly when Tyjon Lindsey decommited from Ohio State and joined up with that other annoying WR Coach? They also had a highly ranked QB (Gebbia), Keyshawn Johnson's kid (composite 4*), and several other high ranking prospects.

Welp. Here's the verdict so far on that class. It's not been good for the Huskers.

It's pretty much a bust. Losing 6 of your 8 top recruits (with 2 never making it on campus to start with), and only getting 1 starter from them is not helpful.

Compare this with Ohio State's 2017 class and the top 8 from it:
Chase Young (stud SDE)
Jeffery Okudah (meaningful snaps at CB)
Baron Browning (ILB starter with Borland injured)
Shaun Wade (backup at CB/S)
Wyatt Davis (backup to Knox at guard)
Trevon Grimes (transferred to UF)
J.K. Dobbins (stud RB)
Josh Myers (backup to Jordan at C)

Important Note: Only 1 of these recruits has left the program, 3 are starters, and 2 others have seen significant playing time, while the rest make the 2-deep.

This is one of the reasons Ohio State is so good. We have the ability to not only ID and attract good recruits, but retain them and turn them into meaningful contributors.

(Edited to correct Myers/Davis roles. Reason - initially brain farted)
