Clemson only defeated Texas A&M by 2 points...and yet both polls kept them at #2. Isn't it too early in the season to forgive the elite teams for having "one of those weeks?"
Lets be honest, if tOSU only beats TCU by 2, they are likely to remain ranked 4th, but that's because it's a top 15 matchup, effectively on the road.
TA&M is unranked, and dont deserve to be ranked. Despite it being a road victory, it was sloppy, and Clemson should have slid a spot or three in the polls. I honestly didn't look at the line for the game, but I would be willing to wager money that they were a much heavier favorite than +1.5.
Total conspiracy theory, but if the good guys struggled with a similar outing, they drop in the polls by 3-5 spots. Watched it happen for the last 10 years.
