Thinking of buying a used minivan for my sister.  Problem is, she lives in Ohio and I live in Maryland.  So checking out vehicles is problematic.  I’ve been checking carfax used cars and a few other sites, but I’m having difficulty figuring out how best to assess from afar.  Any suggestions?
 

backstory: she is living on disability, uses a walker (hence the minivan did to mobility issues) and currently drives a 21 year old+ minivan with (not surprisingly) mechanical issues.  Which could be fixed, except her mechanic told her that it probably wasn’t worth it given how much rust it has.  She drives to the store and medical appointments, so just reliable would do.  For her, it’s her last bit of independence.  I’ll be back for Xmas, so that’s the best time to do a deal.
