Ohio law allows businesses to gain a waiver on their liquor license when there are major events in Cleveland or Columbus. The state defines major events as those that will draw at least 3,000 visitors. The events must last no less than one full one day and can run up to ten days.
Major League Baseball will hold its All-Star Game in Cleveland on July 9, but activities leading up to the game will begin July 5. The waiver would last from July 5 to July 10.
