You guys know stuff. Let me know that stuff for my benefit. I haven't had a real one in years (been borrowing time off work/club equipment for years). Looking for something solid, that'll last.

Use it for the basics (11W gif consumption, email, MS Office-based applications, video streaming, effective up voting).  Looking for durable and easy to use. Windows-based (not an endorsement, just don't bother with Apple).
