April 26, 1982, Hollywood, CA: Rock star Rod Stewart (37) was mugged near Sunset Boulevard today. HPD reports that a lone man wielding a gun approached Stewart as he stood near his black 1977 Porsche Turbo Carrera and demanded the keys to the car. Stewart was with his daughter, Kimberly (3) and secretary, Martha Baher. They had been shopping; it was broad daylight.
As Stewart and his companions looked on in amazement, the thief was unable to start the car. The gunman got out and re-approached Stewart, who showed him how to use the car’s button starter. He then drove off. Stewart also lost his wallet and other personal items left in the car. The car was valued at $50,000.
With all due respect to Rod, and with sensitivity to the seriousness of the reported occurrence, this inevitably raises the question: Are there any gamers out there? I just discovered there are (virtual) worlds out there with real, good music. For obvious reasons, the tunes are especially good for cruising (or fleeing the po-po, if that’s your deal).
