Programming Note: Obviously, this week’s edition is a little early. I will be away from my computer most of the day tomorrow, and I didn’t want to try to do this on my phone while driving. If Alum can post his Monday Meltdown on Sunday, then I can share my random thoughts at whatever random time I feel like it. It’s not like anyone around here has any regard for regularly scheduled contributions, anyway.
Well, the Buckeyes eventually took care of business against the Illini. Not quite the dominant performance many were looking for, but a pretty good win all the way around, and at least we’ve finally gotten QBgeddon behind us, if only to have it replaced by the ongoing Kickergeddon, and the nascent Right Tackalypse. Because with Connor Cook ailing, and Sparty appearing to be down a little this year, we really need something to worry about. Good luck Chase and Sean. We’re all counting on you.
This Is The End
So welcome to the end of the preseason. Perhaps a few stumbles along the way, but no falls. The Illinois game was largely emblematic of the season to date: Solid defense, frustratingly inconsistent offense, kicking game in apparent disarray, not enough Braxton Miller.

With all that is behind us, I am beyond excited for this Saturday’s tilt against the Spartans. Judgment is nigh.
Five Games to Glory
Sparty. That Team. B1G Championship. Playoff Game. Title Game. Let’s do this, Bucks.
Johnny Dangerously
It is now or never for the Browns and Johnny (or at least it will be when the Brownies come back strong from their bye week). Coming off a performance where he looked like a real NFL quarterback (73% on completions, 372 yards) against a defense that was coming after him every down, there is absolutely no excuse for the Browns not to name Johnny the starter for the balance of the season. Will he pan out? My guess is no, but as a Browns fan I never quite fully give up hope, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. If nothing else, he deserves the chance to audition for the next coaching staff and front office, which you know is coming, if not this offseason, then the next. Unless Johnny is able to single-handedly lift this moribund franchise from the ashes of Art Modell’s betrayal. It could happen. It is time for Johnny Future.
