This morning, Taylor Zarzour had Peter Berg from the ESECPNetwork on The First Team.  They were discussing how SEC baseball fans are "the most knowledgeable fans of any college sport".  Berg went on to say how in college football fans are just all over the map and "you have Ohio State fans who never went to Ohio State and Miami fans that never went to Miami", to which I call BS.  However, he went on to say how, well, who cares.  I'm not going to digress into why SEC baseball fans love their teams like they're local AA teams, with players that everyone knows by name.  That's not why I've wasting your time.

Apparently, in recent days, or weeks, or possibly this past weekend, Nick Saban's evil spawn daughter got married in Bryant-Denny Stadium, "complete with a Rolls Royce and pyrotechnics".  This prompted Zarzour to ask Berg what cool or unusual activity he had ever participated in, in a stadium, either legally or illegally.  Then they went on about how Zarzour should pull strings to get Berg to be able to get married at Butler Cabin, which admittedly would be cool.  But, it got me thinking about any stadium antics I may have pulled.

My best story legal would likely be right after I moved to Manhattan, Kansas, a friend came out here for work.  So, while he was in town, we went looking at what sights there are.  When we went to check out Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and we found the gates open, on a random summer afternoon.  So, we did what anyone would do.  We went in.

We made it down to the field, and decided to go see what their new field turf was like.  Neither of us had ever played on field turf, as astroturf was still around when we played sports.  And, there was a rolling cart of balls.  So, we did what anyone would do - we grabbed a ball and started playing catch.  We were running routes and throwing it around when we noticed activity in the stadium.  Duh, people work there.  There were people walking around, and going about their business.   But, apparently we looked like we belonged, because they didn't say boo to us.  Now, there isn't a track or anything, so there's no need to students to access the stadium for physical fitness purposes, so I really don't know why they were thinking it was OK for two guys to be out on the field playing around.  Finally, someone who looked like an athletic trainer came out and yelled "time to wrap it up, guys" and we noticed a couple football players coming out of the "tunnel".  So, off we went - acting just like we belonged there, because apparently we looked the part.

And, here I ask you, 11W, what memorable activity have you engaged in, in  stadium or arena, that makes for a good story?  Have you ever snuck into a stadium of a high school rival? Or, have you ever prompted a rainout, ala Crash Davis?  I know you have some good stories to share. Let's hear 'em, dubbers.

Also, don't forget to register for the 2015 Remy 11W Open.

As close as I've ever gotten to an ace.
