Some of you living in Central Ohio may have heard of this story on the news, for those who haven't I would like to share the amazing story of a young Canal Winchester boy named Brock Johnson that lost his life yesterday. Brock was 14 years old and suffered from a very rare and life-threatening autoimmune disease.

Brock was a huge baseball fan and even though he had this terrible disease he did not let it stop him from playing the game he loved so much. His family started a Facebook page called "Brock's Bullpen" which raised over $15,000. Brock also played in the Make-A-Wish Foundation baseball tournament fundraiser for the past six years, playing second base for the East Side Irish travel baseball team. This year they decided to grant him a wish, raising over $65,000 to go towards a bone marrow transplant that Brock received in September.
You guys remember the article on here about the superheroes washing the windows at Children's Hospital? Brock's favorite superhero happened to be Ironman, this year he got to meet Ironman.

That was an awesome scene from that day, but as a 14 year old boy you probably know that that isn't the "real" ironman.. So here is a better story, after hearing about how much Brock loved Ironman, Robert Downey Jr., invited him to attend The Avengers II world Premier. Brock got to meet the entire cast and spend actual quality time with the real Ironman himself.

This is a kid that was never supposed to live this long, a kid that kept fighting, and had a entire community on his side trying to fight the good fight with him. Unfortunately the fight to defeat this disease inside Brock ended yesterday, Canal Winchester held a candlelight walk in remembrance of Brock last night, thousands of people attended. He touched the lives of thousands and inspired so many to deal with the struggles of their everyday lives and fight through them. A 14 year old that fought a thousand times harder than any grown man ever could have.
Just wanted to share this awesome story as a hope to inspire each of you to fight a little harder with whatever problems you may have going on in life. Have a great day everyone, RIP Brock.
