A recent report in C&E News (http://cen.acs.org/articles/92/i29/Racing-Detect-Brain-Trauma.html) discussed the impacts of repetitive head injuries. The research has advanced scientific understanding of head injuries considerably since the original observation in the 1920's, but significant progress is necessary before a complete understanding of head trauma is realized.
