I thought 1975 Serial Killer Brutus was the penultimate of "creepy, old-timey" mascots. It appears I was wrong.
Thanks to the hivemind at r/CFB, I'm now aware of how terrifying TCU's old mascots used to be. Granted, a horned frog is tough to anthropomorphize, but I am still somewhat flabbergasted these made it through (I assume) a committee of humans:
