Deion Sanders has taken a long absence from Colorado dating back to the spring.
On Monday, the Buffs head coach provided some clarity regarding his hiatus.
Sitting next to a team trainer and a urologic oncologist, Sanders announced to a group of reporters he underwent treatment for a bladder tumor and has been cured of his cancer diagnosis. Sanders lost 25 pounds from the procedure and is still dealing with post-treatment effects.
The larger-than-life Sanders made light of his condition and said he now "depends on Depends" and that if you "see a porta-potty on the sideline" it's real.
"It is real. So if you see a porta-potty on the sideline, it is real. I'm just telling you right now, you're going to see it."
