A professional football team is reportedly coming to Columbus.

Per Pro Football Newsroom's James Larsen, four UFL markets will be relocating next spring, with Columbus expected to be one of the new cities receiving a franchise along with Boise, Florida and Kentucky.

The league will replace markets in Michigan, Houston, Birmingham and Memphis. An official announcement is expected over the next few weeks. The move comes on the heels of poor attendance in several markets and a TV ratings drop for the UFL.

Traditionally, the UFL runs from late March until mid-June over a 10-week span, featuring former college standouts who aren't currently employed by an NFL franchise. It's possible a Columbus-area team could feature a roster including several former Buckeye standouts.
