Oregon may have just landed its starting quarterback for its Week 2 battle with Ohio State as Boston College graduate transfer Anthony Brown has transferred to the Ducks.

Brown was a three-year starter at Boston College, throwing for 4,738 yards and 40 touchdowns in his 28 starts, but he missed the final six games of the season with a leg injury and entered the transfer portal in December.

The Ducks will have a new starting quarterback this year with the departure of soon-to-be first-round NFL draft pick Justin Herbert. Redshirt freshman Tyler Shough was the team's backup quarterback throughout last season and was initially considered the favorite to win the job over Cale Millen, Jay Butterfield and Robby Ashford before the cancellation of spring practices put the quarterback battle on hiatus.

With the addition of Brown, that competition likely has a new frontrunner with much more experience.

Oregon is set to host Ohio State at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 12.
