In a completely insane college football season, one of the most consistent, reliable things in the sport has been the excellence on the field of Baker Mayfield. However you feel about the guy otherwise, it's undeniable that not only is he going to win the Heisman trophy, but there's a pretty good chance he'll be playing in the national championship.

The Sooners dismantled TCU, 41-17, mostly on Mayfield's arm:

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Baker Mayfield threw four touchdowns and No. 2 Oklahoma staked claim to a playoff spot with a 41-17 win over No. 10 TCU in the return of the Big 12 championship game Saturday.

With their record 11th Big 12 title, the Sooners (12-1, No. 3 CFP) are a lock to be in the College Football Playoff for the second time in three seasons. They are the only Big 12 team to make the four-team playoff format that started in 2014.

This is the ideal scenario for Ohio State; an Oklahoma loss probably would've sunk any aspirations the Buckeyes still have of making the playoff. Up next: the SEC championship, where Ohio State fans are hoping that the Auburn Tigers will seal the deal against the Georgia Bulldogs.
