Brace yourselves: Nerds and their numbers are coming to college sports.

From Chris Vainnini of CoachingSearch.com:

Nebraska is jumping in the analytics game, announcing Wednesday the hiring of Tucker Zeleny as director of sports analytics and data analysis, who will lead a newly formed department.

The department will work with all 24 of Nebraska’s varsity teams and “collect, analyze and summarize data related to team and individual performance.” The department will also help support staffers with operations.

Well, that's certainly one way to spend (an assumed) lump of cash. Only time will tell if this was the edge Nebraska needed to rescue itself from the bile of B1G mediocrity.
