Everett Golson Returns from Exile, Practices with Irish

Everett Golson was kicked out of Notre Dame last year due to academic cheating. Notre Dame's 2013 season didn't fare much better after that.

After serving a year in exile, however, Golson has paid his debt to society and is back with the Irish:

"I want to say surreal in a sense," Golson said after the Fighting Irish's first spring practice. "I felt accomplished for a split moment, that I went through what I went through and now I'm back and I'm moving forward now and still continuing that process of trying to grind and be better."

Golson was contacted by other schools to gauge his interest in potentially transferring, but Golson remained firm in his commitment to the Irish.

Obviously, the kid made a dumb mistake, but it's always cool to see kids redeem themselves. Considered a redshirt junior now, Gholson will still have to earn the starting job over redshirt freshman (and one-time Ohio State target) Malik Zaire.

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. I'm sure the Domer fans are ecstatic to have him back in the fold, though.
