UPDATE (1:51 p.m.): A source informs Eleven Warriors that while Hodges "100%" was targeting Michigan, the dispute stems from the official visit of a 2019 prospect. The copy has been updated and the author regrets the error.

Former Ohio State assistant director of player personnel Eron Hodges left Columbus in April for the head job at Purdue.

Hodges has helped assemble a 2019 Boilermaker class that includes 15 commits, with five coming from the great state of Ohio. It currently ranks No. 24 in the country and sixth in the Big Ten, which ain't too shabby for a team that went 7-6 last season.

Though Hodges didn't mention Michigan by name, he tweeted a swipe at its lying coaches Wednesday morning:

Hodges also fired a shot across Ohio State's bow last week after the two teams accepted commitments from players hailing from the other's state. Given the deep relationship between Hodges and former boss Mark Pantoni, that was banter... especially compared to this week's lying coaches remark.

Purdue and Michigan won't play in the regular season. Purdue hosts Ohio State on Oct. 20.
