Buy It. You're Welcome. Somethin' That Means Somethin'

The bottom line is Ohio State did what they had to do to beat Penn State 75-67 tonight in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Everybody's POY Evan Turner led the charge with 25 points, 7 boards and 7 assists coupled with 3 steals and 2 swats as OSU kept pace with Purdue in pursuit of a conference tizzy. With the Buckeyes up 59-57 at the 5:15 mark, ET went balls to the wall scoring eight straight OSU points to take a commanding 67-59 lead with 3:53 to play. Penn State would cut the lead to six a few times but it was fools gold as OSU marched to an 8 point victory.

I truthfully thought OSU would come out foaming at the mouth but it wasn't to be as the Buckeyes led only 30-26 at half thanks to 1/7 shooting from Turner complemented by 2/6 from Diebs. As usual, it was Wil Buford who stepped up in ET's scoring absence putting up 10 1st half points (5/8 FG).

Penn State gave the Buckeyes a mini-scare but I just never had the notion that a loss was imminent. Again, the better team won, in a fashion that suggests they weren't as prepared as I'd hoped but still showed enough to make me feel comfy with the last two games against Michigan and Illy.

Turner was sensational scoring 20 in the 2nd half as Diebs added 10 (16 pts total) on a sketchy 2/10 from distance. David Lighty was electric totaling 18 points (6/9 FG) including 13 in the final 20 minutes. Watching the game with a chief Diebs apologist (might even be his Uncle), I was forced to notice JD playing legit helpside D and rotating without the ball on O.

Buford fouled out with 12 points and six rips before greeting the crowd with an apparent junk-grab while Dallas impressed grabbing 10 boards and four points.

How bout Lighty tonight? Not only did he register 18 points, but they felt timely and in sync, meaning no triple tries early in the shot clock and/or void of offensive rhythm.

Overall, the Bucks hit 48% from the floor committing only eight turnovers while holding PSU to 44%. That's all I got tonight. Don't hate. It was a long day.

Before I forget...How dope is the album Labcabincalifornia from The Pharcyde? It guided me home tonight and for that, it's a crank of epic proportions. That is all.
