Here's what I think will happen: C.P. Brown will get first shot based on his seniority, but everyone else will get their chance to lay a claim too. After a couple of weeks, playing time will start being adjusted upward and downward depending on how everyone is looking. I like Brown's chances to stick, but Meyer will make him earn it, and he should get pushed.
I hope all these guys make it a hard decision because they're all equally good options rather than because they're all struggling.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
I'd be surprised if it wasn't Tyvis Powell. He is the #1 nickel back after all. Pitt and Vonn will battle for Tyvis' old spot.
Brown starts. Think Bell makes the best of his opportunities and replaces him within 3 games.
Also voted for Pittsburgh Brown for the moment, and think Vonn Bell down the line.
Nod to Ron Tanner, who has played well in brief pt this season...just think he's caught between experience and talent.

Cameron Johnston... have you guys ever seen some of the hits in Aussie Rules football? And yes I know this is Rugby and not Aussie Rules but still I am sure he can hit someone like this after a week with Coach Coombs and a truckload of Red Bull.
Crazy how the jerseys all look the same.
Here's some hard Aussie Footy hits. Yeah, Johnston is probably itching to throw a hit.
If Coombs spent the spring ripping into Tyvis I'd like to see a payout.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
Tyvis has the perfect build for star, I would like to keep him there. Big, strong, fast.
I think on the road against NU, we need experience, so we play Pitt Brown. As the season progresses, you evaluate his performance against Bell's freshman progression, and play whomever is performing in practice at the higher level.
Bell is the better athlete and has the higher ceiling, but away in a big game, you need to have trust in the FS. The FS is your last line of defense against a big/deep play, you can't afford any freshman mistakes back there. Let Vonn continue to grow and make the call based on that as the season progresses...get him a lot of snaps against the inferior opponents in the coming weeks.
Powell will be on the field, at least at the Star. If he drops back, it's because we feel like we are better served as a whole. I think the 5th guy is Pitt Brown right now, based on the experience we will need at NW. Bell and Tanner will have a great opportunity to work themselves in. I'd love to see Johnston lay some wood on a punt return!
Pitt with a side order of Bell.
“I have yet to be in a game where luck was involved. Well-prepared players make plays. I have yet to be in a game where the most prepared team didn't win.” -Urban Meyer-
I am thinking pitt gets the start and i am also thinking we get two to three ints sat night.
Pitt, Powell and Tanner, in that order will play in that spot. GO BUCKS!
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
I hate to be that guy, but.... I think we may see an improvement with whoever takes over. I love Christian Bryant as much as the next guy, but he's historically been the guy out of position on a lot of big plays in the passing game. His run support has been great though.
I'd like to see more Ron Tanner - If I recall he was praised as one of the best tacklers on the team - I'm not sure he can squeeze himself onto the field before the other three
He has been great on special teams, along with Brown and Bell. On ST, all appear to be sound tacklers...not as much of the "big hit" tackle style, more wrapping up.
This sucks ass but Pitt Brown will do a good job. Not to mention Powell and Bell are ready to go too.
Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.
could you imagine how sweet it would be to see your punter out there laying the smack down in the secondary?
This week.. Pitt Brown, definitely. He has experience, and much more knowledge of the scheme and what the defense is trying to accomplish. However, after a bye week and Vonn Bell getting some time as well this Saturday, I would not be surprised to see Vonn starting against Iowa.
You gotta give the job to Kenny Guiton!
What is this? Where is the love for my man Cameron Johnston?
