With Denver's 24–10 choke hold of a win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50, two more Buckeyes – cornerback Bradley Roby and tight end Jeff Heuerman – join the list of former Ohio State greats to earn Super Bowl rings.

Heuerman, however, joins an even more distinct club. He became one of just 12 Buckeyes to win a national championship in Columbus before going on to win a Super Bowl. Impressive as that is, Heuerman is also the first to accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons.

Matt Snell was the first to do it, following his 1961 national championship at Ohio State with a win in Super Bowl III as a member of the New York Jets. Paul Warfield, another member of that 1961 national championship team, earned two Super Bowl rings with the Miami Dolphins (VII and VIII). Ditto for Morris Bradshaw, a member of the 1970 team that is recognized as a national champion (XI and XV with the Oakland Raiders).

In all, 32 Buckeyes have won 38 Super Bowl rings. Mike Vrabel leads the way with the three he won with the New England Patriots (XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX), while John Frank, Bradshaw, Warfield, Pepper Johnson and William Roberts own a pair of Super Bowl rings.
