Marshon Lattimore Had Hamstring Surgery Wednesday Morning, Out for Three Months

Urban Meyer confirms hamstring surgery for freshman Marshon Lattimore.

Ohio State freshman cornerback Marshon Lattimore had surgery on his hamstring Wednesday morning, head coach Urban Meyer confirmed.

The procedure will sideline Lattimore for three months. Meyer said he expects him to redshirt the 2014 football season.

Meyer said Lattimore, a talented recruit of out Glenville High School in Cleveland, hurt his hamstring last spring before deciding to surgically repair the damage this week.

"We had some issues, and then we all said: 'God doesn’t make a hamstring to be sore for five months.'"

Lattimore was expected to compete for playing time against fellow cornerbacks Eli Apple, Gareon Conley, and Armani Reeves.

I am sad the Dude is hurt but looking forward one of the Frosh CB needed to redshirt otherwise there would have been 4 (Lattimore Webb Conley Apple) in the same eligibility year.

I just look at it that we just picked up another 5 star recruit for the 2015 class

And these are some of the reasons why Urban is recruiting multiple talent for the same positions..............depth for when its needed.

Good luck on the surgery youngin' and wish you well on your recovery. Look forward to watching you compete next year!

Sad news, but not surprising given the injury.  Best of luck with the surgery and rehab.  Looking forward to seeing a stronger / better version of Marshon next year!

This sucks. He was one of the recruits I was most excited to see compete for early PT for whatever reason.

So happy to  hear it is a hamstring which is minor compared to  the ACL.s and achilles of the World. Much quicker recovery and shouldnt miss a beat come bowl practices.

Mark my words..I don't need acceptance. I'm catching interceptions on you innocent pedestrians.

Gotta feel bad for the dude. But thankfully not an acl/mcl. I imagine at very least he would have been a contributor is ST.

Also did I read correctly on this site that he was labeled as a safety?

Damn, seemed like Lattimore had something a lot of DB prospects don't have -- had been hearing he might return kicks or punts.  Hope he's healthy for spring football and next season.  No more bad news before the season, come on!

I was looking forward to him to have a big impact in the return game. Heard him compared with Ginn in that capacity. As well as playing some offense. He is that much of a play maker. Again, depth in all of these areas should make this minimal in terms impact on the overall team. Another impact player for '15.

Sadly, the Buckeyes are getting their money's worth from their insurance company.
