D'Angelo Russell's rookie season couldn't have gone much worse. While the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft showed flashes of potential, he was wantonly benched during crunch time by noted bad basketball coach Byron Scott, who labeled Russell "immature."

Russell compounded those problems in March, when he secretly taped teammate Nick Young confessing to cheating on his fiancée with a 19-year-old he met at a club (among other escapades). When the tape got released, Russell's teammates shunned him.

Remarkably, Russell's season got worse Thursday afternoon when Lil B appeared on ESPN's Sports Nation.

Lil B, for the uninitiated, is a no-talent Z-list "rapper" whose only claim to fame is his work as mouthpiece of The Based God, an omnipotent force that condemned Oklahoma Thunder swingman Kevin Durant to a ringless future in 2011.

The Based God even decided the fate of the 2016 Western Conference Finals:

Unfortunately for Russell, his antics with Nick Young were enough to draw the ire of The Based God, who officially cursed Russell on Thursday.

Russell quickly responded on Twitter before coming to his senses and deleting the tweet:

D'Angelo Russell

Perhaps Russell will weigh his ringless future and reconsider. The Based God offered him a path to pardon after his fans pleaded his case to Lil B:

My advice to Silk is to take Lil B up on the offer. The Based God is not to be trifled with.
