One of the biggest visits in Chris Holtmann's short tenure as Ohio State head coach is set to begin Wednesday evening.

Former Buckeyes pledge and top-100 guard Dane Goodwin will take his official visit to Ohio State from Wednesday through Friday, according to Zach Fleer of 270Hoops.

Goodwin, a four-star shooting guard from nearby Upper Arlington High School, is the nation's No. 78th-ranked recruit in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports composite. He is the fourth-rated prospect in the state of Ohio.

Goodwin committed to Ohio State under Thad Matta and its previous coaching staff before he ever played a high school game on Dec. 1, 2014. He remained committed for nearly three years before he announced his decommitment publicly last week after the Buckeyes opted to make a coaching change.

At the time of Goodwin's decommitment, he said he would still consider Ohio State and this visit confirms just that.

After Goodwin backed off his pledge, he reportedly visited both Notre Dame and Villanova and received scholarship offers from both. However, shortly after Goodwin's visit, Notre Dame accepted a commitment from four-star shooting guard Robby Carmody — its second guard pledge in this class — leading many to believe the two frontrunners for Goodwin are now Ohio State and Villanova.

As things stand right now, Holtmann and Co. have five available scholarships for the 2018 recruiting class. Potentially getting Goodwin back on board would obviously be a huge first step.
