Exhibition Soccer Match Between Real Madrid and Paris St.-Germain Set For July 27 at Ohio Stadium

A different kind of football is set to invade Columbus this summer.

An international soccer exhibition between Real Madrid and Paris St.-Germain is scheduled for July at Ohio Stadium as part of the International Champions Cup, Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures, announced Tuesday at a press conference in New York.

The match is set for Wednesday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. and to be played on a temporary grass field at The Horseshoe as part of the ICC's North American exhibition tour, which has played in the continent's best stadiums since 2013.

"We are thrilled to bring the matchup between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to Columbus and Ohio State University," Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports, said in a press release. "Ohio Stadium is a tremendous sports venue that holds record crowds and we expect the great sports fans in the Columbus area to fill the Shoe to capacity. This is a matchup of two elite teams and we look forward to an excellent match."

Real Madrid is led by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, while Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović is the face of PSG, though is contract is up after this season.
