Ohio State's women's rowing team won last year's Big Ten championship en route to winning last year's national championship, its first in the sport. It started a new season in defense of that national title with three wins against Michigan this morning.

The second varsity eight was the real story of the day for the rowing team. It beat Michigan's crew in a race by eight seconds, extending its winning streak to 18-0. That streak with that particular Ohio State crew dates to March 2012.

Ohio State next travels to Corvallis, Oregon to take on the Beavers next Saturday.
