This week I'm going to take you on a trip down memory lane with previous signing classes. Today's remembery is with the 2011 class.

Nobody knew that the first Wednesday of 2011 would be the last signing day class for Jim Tressel as Ohio State's head coach. The 23 players below are Jim Tressel's last mark on the Ohio State program. Some of the players quit, some of the players transferred, some players left school early, but the players that stayed became champions.

PLAYERS THAT LIVED UP TO THE GOLD STANDARD

Michael Bennett

Tallied 111 tackles (61 solo) and 31.5 tackles for loss, 18 sacks and 7 forced fumbles.

Doran Grant

Grabbed 9 interceptions, an interception return for TD, 20 pass break ups, made 146 tackles (110 solo) and a sack in 54 games.

Braxton Miller

Miller has gained 8,346 yards of total offense, and 48 touchdowns in the 36 games he has played at Ohio State.

Ryan Shazier

In the 37 games he played Shazier made 316 tackles (209 solo) 44.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and had an interception return for a touchdown.

DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH*

Devin Smith

The 15th ranked player in the class Smith came in with a comp. rating of .883. He didn't let other people's labels hold him back. Devin Smith ended his Ohio State career with 30 touchdowns, second on the all-time touchdown list, and averaged 20.7 YPR.

Jeff Heuerman

In 52 games Heuerman caught 52 passes for 792 yards and 7 touchdowns.

FOOL'S GOLD

Curtis Grant

131 tackles (66 solo), 9 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks over 46 games is decent. However, they are not the numbers you expect for the top-ranked player in the class. Especially when you compare them with what Shazier did in 37 games.

Chase Farris

In 27 games Farris made 3 tackles (2 solo), 1.5 sacks and a pass break up. Not the production you would expect from a player with a .925 composite rating.

A leg injury cost Crowell his playing career.

Braxton Miller

Miller has definitely made an impact for the Buckeyes, but you cannot deny that the play-maker has been injury prone. His latest injury cost him the 2014 season.
