Glad to see that he's thriving here.

I've always believed Slade would be a rock once he got here.

I was just thinking about Slade yesterday but couldn't find an old thread to bump and didn't want to creat another post just asking how he is doing.  thanks for the post.

Good to see he lost it, was my pick for first. Think he has a chip on his shoulder and will contribute after his RS year.

This is kind of surprising since he was considered a bit raw and players like Damon Webb were thought to be further along, but I think he is seriously underrated. He will be able to fill in for the loss of Jamal Marcus.

The player I think he looks a lot like on the field is Dee Ford, currently on my Chiefs team. Kid is not the biggest package but has the kind of muscle and speed that makes him a perfect pass rusher. Also reminds me of Dwight Freeney. Just a stout body with long limbs that can bend the corner so fast! totally different than some of our other pass rushers who are long and huge (Bosa, Holmes, Spence). I'm not saying weight but just long bodies.

Remember that losing the black stripe does not correlate with talent, potential, or really anything related to seeing the field (although an argument could be made that's it a step in the right direction).  It's really more about growing up, transitioning to the next level in how you carry yourself and getting into the right frame of mind.

even based on that definition I would have thought Damon Webb would have been before Slade, among others. Webb is very mature and I'm certain he is transitioning well. Same with Dixon who Meyer praises all the time.

I'm just saying Slade was a bit of a surprise and its a good thing because he could be a great 3rd down rush specialist, perhaps this year.
