The funny thing about this list is that because we can only take 15-17 recruits next year, our leftovers will still be legit 4 stars in Ohio that will inevitably go to tsun. They'll inevitably make it seem like Hoke has opened Ohio wide open, but in reality, it'll be that whoever they get didn't make our cut, most likely. Callling it now.

2012 was the year of D linemen and LBers, 2013 can be all of our offensive weapons (Marshall, Foster, Gibson) and DBs. If we get a couple more o-line guys like we did this year, these two classes will complement each other very well.

Ohio State is interested in having Northwest junior outside linebacker Rasheen Jones attend its Junior Day this month, according to Northwest coach Chad Murphy.
Jones has visits for UK and Lousiville for their Junior Days on the 18th and 25th.
QB Brogan Roback will take a visit to Ohio State this weekend. He still scheduled for Junior Day as well the week after.
Mike McCray just got an offer from Oklahoma I really hope Ohio State gives him an offer. Not just because of the Trotwood connection but I think he's a good player would hate to lose him out of state. Alex, Genestarwind, or anyone have any info on when if ever Meyer might offer him?

Heavy Buckeye lean of course but I think Meyer is looking at bigger talent right now due to limited scholarships and McCray is all Buckeye if offered, if the dominoes don't fall in Meyers way, he will offer McCray, but I think he is only for backup. We have limited scholarships and I'm sure Meyer want's these next few classes to stand out as much as possible. Michigan, Tennessee and Purdue are his likely early leaders. If McCray really wants to be a Buckeye like he's been saying for the past year, he won't give up on Ohio State. There is still another year of HS football to be played, maybe he can impress the new staff and eventually earn an offer. Anything can happen in a year guys.

Regarding McCray, we've been burned in the past by slow playing Ohio guys.
However, in the past we didn't have Meyer to land that elite out of state talent consistently.
Honestly, I find it hard to see how players (like Kalis) who are supposedly all Buckeye can even consider playing for Michigan.
Regardless, as said scholarships are limited so I'm fine with Meyer going after the bigger fish first. Hopefully players like McCray don't jump the gun to early (like Dymonte Thomas) and wait for the OSU offer if it comes.
I don't think we take McCray. Jaylon Smith, Ben Gedeon, and Courtney Love are all possible Buckeyes, and are better prospects.

We should see maybe a few more commits before the next school year in the spring and summer and they could be Eli Woodard, Malik Zaire and the third probably being between Caleb Day, Jaylon Smith or Shelton Gibson
Im not sure if Robert Foster set a time table for when he wants to give a verbal, but if/when we land Zaire, we would be sitting pretty with Foster as well. They want to play together and I'm sure Zaire won't commit without talking things over with Foster first.

After watching Malik Zaire's highlight tape, I can only think to compare this kid to Michael Vick. He's got the same throw style where it's just a flick of the wrist and the ball goes 40 or 50 yds. However, he doesn't seem to have the same running ability as Vick but it's still deadly. I can only imagine what Urban can do with a kid with his ability. Plus, from what I heard him and Robert Foster are a package deal. That would be sick.

Surprised Trubisky isn't rated higher. Mentor is D1 right? He has a cannon for an arm and seems to shred those defenses. 6'3'' is a fairly decent height too.
Yes, Mentor is D1, and, in fact, they played State Champs St. Ignatius this season and lost 23-17.
full disclosure, I have not watched the highlight tape of Anzalone. It just baffles me that a player who is almost universally renowned as the better prospect on all recruiting sites and is at a high school that tOSU appeared to be trying to build a pipeline with has gone unoffered despite several inferior (according to recruiting sites, not my own judgment) players continue to pick them up.

I had read from another source the Eli would committ by Friday, so if he announces on Thursday that certainly fits with the 'buzz' I've read on him.
Well considering Eli himself said he'd be announcing Thursday, and over the weekend he had a three day visit to Ohio State (he was a heavy Buckeye lean previously), one would assume he's committing. There is no buzz, that's fact.
What's up with staff offering all these out of state QB's? Are they not sold on Zaire or any other Ohio kid?
I think both Zaire and from what it sounds Trubisky have committable offers, so if they want in, I think theyll both be in.

I feel like both of the Ohio QBs will more than likely be buckeyes. And with Zaire committing we could also lock up Foster. Let's hope so

I'm not a big recruiting guy but how is Mitch not rated? You'd think they'd have that for a kid who's done what he has. I'm a Mentor homer so I want him to be a Buckeye.

@Jasonbuck- I'm wondering the same thing. It doesn't seem like any of the O-linemen we have offered so far are leaning Buckeyes at all...Lisle and Peterson seem like pretty big prospects. You've got to trust Meyer though, we'd be stupid not to.

This is my take on it, seeing that we have limited scholarship, Meyer is going to go after the big fish out there and try to land one or two, once the top guys we are targeting get taken of the board, offers for Ohio kids will start to happen. You have to remind yourselfs that scholarships are a big factor in the recruiting for the next 3 years.

Interesting ESPN article on Ahmad Fulwood. I'm not trying to get 11w in trouble so edit as much as necessary, but here are two short clips of the story found here. Also worth noting, ESPNU lists him as a 5-star WR.
Yeah DMC, Fulwood wants out of Florida, that much I do know. OSU has a decent chance with this guy and I think he can be a 5* on Rivals and 247 if he has a breakout Senior year. I think Ohio State will get an official from this kid.

I'm guessing this class will end up around 22. I can tell you with absolute certainty there's about 15 guys on this team the staff has on a short leash. One little screw up and they are gone. I'm estimating 4-5 of those will find trouble. Add them to the graduating seniors, the 3-4 transfers that will happen because of no chance at ever receiving playing time and you end up at 22.

Yes, but Trubisky has a comittable offer, and in all likelyhood, they will take 2 QBs MAX. I feel like he'll bite and an out of state will bite.

I feel like we need another TE, we will only have 2 on scholarship after this season I believe with Vannett and heuerman the only ones. And are the 2 RB going to be all speed? Cause we have a lot of RB already with Hyde,dunn,Ball, Smith all pretty young but hyde. And 4 WR isn't that a lot when we signed 4 this year and won't be loosing any WR. IDK I guess with today I feel like it is hard to get top guys year in and year out when it seems like they all want to play right away.

For some reason I want to say that if a guy plays both Football and BBall in college, the scholorship always counts towards football. Tried to find some info on this subject but couldn't.

Here is a nice article from Rivals talking to Philly RB David Williams after he was offered.
Apparently he has known current Buckeye Philly Brown for a long time and actually found out that he was offered when Philly told him to give his recruiter a call. Seems Philly Brown is intensely recruiting this kid.
He says that he grew up following Ohio State but is "wide open" in his recruitment, having visited Penn State this weekend and planning to visit Wisconsin soon.
Williams is a 4* on Rivals and is #188 on their initial 2013 Rivals250.

Well here is what I know so far about Zaire:
He will be visiting Pitt on Monday, he has a relationship built with the Pitt coaching staff as well as Ohio State. He's talked about learning more about the types of offenses teams run and how he could fit into multiple styles. He saying that he wants to commit before the next football season, I'm guessing in the Summer. You can't really give kids a commitable offer in this period of recruiting, just verbal offers, sale pitching and building relationships. Nebraska is in play here too, they gave him an offer not too long ago and Zaire put them in his top 3, along with Pitt and OSU. So we are mainly battling Pitt and Nebraska at this time to land Zaire. It's been pretty quiet right now with Zaire's recruitment, but I still think Ohio State has a very good shot at landing Zaire.
