Sir Patrick Scott is no longer a member of Michigan's 2016 recruiting class. The cornerback from Maryland decided to re-open the recruiting process after receiving the cold shoulder from Harbaugh and Michigan. From 247:
Scott, who committed to Michigan while on an unofficial visit in early August, was reportedly not hearing from the coaching staff as much in recent months.
The Wolverines are now back down to 23 commits overall in the 2016 class, with eyes on Top100 cornerbacks Lavert Hill and David Long to finish out the cycle.
If I remember correctly I think we heard whispers from an esteemed 11W staff member that Harbaugh has a habit of signing lower rated players early in the recruiting process. Then, as signing day draws close to an end the lower rated commits don't hear from Harbaugh or his staff.
A shame Sir Patrick Scott had to live through it to learn the lesson. The positive spin is that Wake Forest could be the school he signs with. Not living in Ann Arbor might be a blessing in disguise for the young man.
