Eleven Warriors 3rd Annual Eat Too Brutus to benefit DownSyndrome Achieves

Two years ago we threw a little party for our readers prior to the Miami game. That was fun, but that afternoon made us realize something:

We have a lot more readers than we thought.

We decided we had to raise our game for 2011. So last year's party was thrown to benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, and that little tailgate brought in even more of you, including OSU media dignitaries and Buckeye sports legends (that includes you too, Titus).

It also brought in almost $6,000 for charity. Not bad for a bunch of basement-dwelling bloggers.

So for our third annual tailgate, we’re going to be raising as much money as humanly possible for DownSyndrome Achieves, which - along with creating a welcoming community of support for individuals and families living with Down syndrome - is committed to aggressively advancing research, legislation and education.

Tailgating ahead of a big game is pretty great, but doing so knowing that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to DownSydrome Achieves is some other level type fun.

DownSyndrome Achieves

Like last year, we have some friends who will be making the day memorable for all of us. And we're looking for more.

We're looking for YOU.

Our friends at City Barbeque will be back this year for E2B3, graciously helping us out with what they do better than anyone. The expert craftsmen at Oval Brewing will be back to showcase their skills.

New this year: The Columbus Distributing Company will be representing its brands as well (see below; try not to squeal - remember, you're at work) and we've got some other partners and goodies in store.

Once again, we're making it incredibly easy for you to contribute and attend the event. Simply contribute at a level you're comfortable with and your spot at Eat Too, Brutus 2012 is reserved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will tickets work?
Simple. Pick a comfortable donation level, add to cart and purchase. Then, on the day of the event, show up with either a printed copy of your receipt or a photo ID and you're good.

How long will the event last?
We'll kick things off at 1pm—or whenever you conquer your hangover from Friday night's Drink Too, Brutus—and go hard until 12:30am or so. If you don't have a ticket to the game, you're more than welcome to hang out and watch it on the TVs we'll have on hand.

Do I need to bring food and/or drink?
No. Food and beer (Bud products and Yuengling) come with your admission. If you purchase a VIP ticket, you'll also have access to delicious Oval Brewing. We'll also have some non-alcoholic drinks if you're driving. If you insist on bringing a batch of Buckeyes or your own moonshine, we won't stop you.

I love tailgating, but there are college football games that day I want to see! Can Eat Too, Brutus help?
There will be several TVs at the tailgate, and while most games are still unassigned you can plan on catching Michigan vs. Purdue and Wisconsin vs. Illinois, among others. (We like to watch college football too).

What's the deal with Oval Brewing? How do I get in on that action?
We're fortunate to have Oval Brewing at Eat Too, Brutus again this year because the 11th Warrior IIPA and Back 9 Pale Ale are insanely delicious. To get access to their fine suds, simply buy a ticket at the Eat Too, Brutus Hero ($75) level or above.

What's in the charity raffle?
Items that will go into the charity raffle are still being added. Last year, we handed out autographed footballs and basketballs, a helmet signed by Chris Spielman, a sock worn by Mark Titus in the Final Four and other great Buckeye artifacts that would look great in any living room.

If you're interested in donating an item to the raffle, let's talk!

I can't make it. Can I still donate?
Yes! DownSyndrome Achieves would appreciate anything we can do to help, so if you can't make the event, but would still love to donate, you can mail a check to:
